About Me – SweetMummy
Sweet Mummy – that’s me!

OOPS – I’m supposed to be writing about ME!
I am (striving to be) a wife of noble character.
I AM worth far more than rubies – as a cherished child of God, bought with the blood of Christ, I am precious in the Lord’s eyes.
As for the part about getting up while it is still dark – that is actually totally true, too! Because I live far enough north in the world that during the winter it’s dark well into the day. And in my particular area, it’s nearly always dark in the winter because of the clouds and almost continuous rain.
I am not a morning person; and unfortunately SweetMummy isn’t always the best name for me before 9am.
I am learning more and more that I really DO like to cook for my family, when I can be creative and have the time to do it.
I have no servant girls.
I am happily married to a wonderful man of God. We celebrate 11 years in July 2008!
Oh, and he’s a pastor, too – so that makes me a Pastor’s Wife.
We are Americans living in Canada. British Columbia is such a beautiful place to live, and we’re blessed to have been called to live and serve the Lord here.
I am proud to be a highly educated Stay-at-Home Mom, having a Bachelor of Science Degree in Water Resources-Civil Engineering, graduating with honors. I’m glad to have worked in the “professional’ world just long enough to appreciate how important a Profession is. I’m also glad to have left the corporate world to fully enjoy motherhood as my chosen profession.
We have 3 children – Pleasant-n-Intense Oldest Daughter (age 9), Artistic-n-Quirky Middle Son (age 7), Sweet-n-Crazy Youngest Son (age 6).
I love to quilt! I only wish I could sew more these days. So many ideas, so little time.
I love to read! I am in love when I set foot into a library. All those rows and rows and shelf after shelf of wonderful, glorious BOOKS! I read all kinds of books. Some I devour and some I savour. It’s all fantastic to me!
I was co-leader of a Children’s Cell Group (we’re the “K-Cell”), composed of about 10 children in grades 2, 3 and 4. I learned so much from them and miss them a bunch!
I’m always considering (well-in-advance of actually tearing the walls down) a kitchen renovation of whatever house we live in.
I have been diagnosed with Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Endometriosis. No one confirms the diagnosis of PSYCHO, but I’m sure there’s a little of that in there, too!
I am a recovering depression sufferer, a singer, a fiddler, an encourager, a wanna-be writer, a storyteller, a boo-boo fixer, a dancer, a coacher, a life-long learner, a minister, a great-big-laugher,a listener, a creater, a crier, a do-it-yourself-er, a hyster-sister, and NOW a blogger!
My blogger code is: B2 d- t- k+ s u– f- i- o+ x– e- l c–
I’m a work in progress, by the grace of God!
|Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31|
