This sign was our anniversary gift from my Sweetie’s parents this year. It’s very fitting for us, and I love it! It says: In Our House We do second chances. We say prayers. We do I’m sorry’s. We do loud really well. We give hugs. We do love. We Are Family. Today’s post is a bit wordy, isn’t it? Link your Weird and Wordless (or Word-full) posts below. Yes, I did wear the silly Montana’s Birthday Horns Tuesday night for dinner. I thought the hat had Moose Antlers, but apparently our local Montana’s only has horns. S’OK. My kiddos thought it was great (and weren’t entirely surprised) that I was ‘willing’ to wear the hat/helmet/horns. Link your Weird and Wordless (or Word-full) posts below. Top Reason I Love Having a Crab Apple Tree – WW {linky}

The crab apple tree in my front yard can be very messy, dropping crab apples right left and center, especially in the wind. When our little friends come by to eat the apples, 2 or 3 groups of them every day, I LOVE having the crab apple tree!  From now through spring, we’ll have deer coming and going regularly, in our front yard, in town, eating the crab apples. They will even dig under the snow to find them later – nothing more tasty than a freeze-dried crab apple when everything else is dead! Link [...]

Spruce Meadows 2011 Collage

On Saturday, my daughter and I went with another Mother/Daughter pair up to Spruce Meadows in Calgary for the Nations Cup horse jumping competition. It was amazing! I’m going to blog about that awesome experience as a whole post. For now, here’s just a few pics from the day. (and my first attempt at a Picnik collage! Thanks for the tip, Tammi!) The Day BEFORE the Hunt – WW {linky}

My husband is a hunter. He hunts for the sport, for the adventure, for the enjoyment of being outdoors and in the ‘wilderness’, but mostly for the meat. September 1st is a big holiday at our house because it’s the first day of Deer Season (for hunting with a bow). THESE beautiful specimens were in our front yard, in town, on the day before hunting season started…. eating crabapples from our tree, and fiercely taunting my husband. It’s weird, like they KNEW that season was opening at dawn the next day, and the safest place [...]

It happens little by little. They sneak up on you, as you innocently go about life, completely unsuspecting of the advancing onslaught. What’s even worse is that this advancement is meticulously planned to take place over the course of YEARS. Careful coordination ensures gradual inundation without detection. The operation starts with something as simple as a completely harmless box of washable felt markers and ambi-dexterous safety scissors – how bad can that be, anyway? Before you know it, you are totally and utterly overrun by geometry sets and bi-fold double-pocket duotangs. You never even knew what hit [...]

Wordless Wednesday – Lego Wall-E {w/linky}

13 comments May 25, 2011

Not quite wordless … I gotta brag on my kiddo for a minute.  My son, BudBud, is quite the artist and Lego builder. A while back he made a Lego Wall-E.  I LOVE the detail – he’s got such an awesome eye for these kinds of things!  I think he did a great job – what do you think? Wall-E making a garbage brick.There is really a little hole in the front of Wall-E where he compacts the bricks,complete with a door on a hinge, that opens and closes.The red and blue buttons on top [...]
