About Me

It’s OK to be WEIRD! is a blog written by me, Raylene. I’m a Canadian/American Civil Engineer turned work-at-home mom. Wife to an ordained pastor, and mom to 3 gorgeous kiddos (girl – 19 yrs old, boys – 18 and 16 yrs old), I write about real life in all its weirdness, highlighting the extraordinary things that happen in ordinary, everyday family experiences.

My mission is to encourage readers to celebrate life and to be themselves. My life motto, “It’s OK to be weird” is the foundation for my philosophy on life and on blogging – each person is created uniquely, and we’re all a little weird in our own way. I urge readers of It’s OK to be WEIRD! to ‘embrace their inner weirdie’, not for the sake of being weird, but for the sake of being true to themselves.

I blog about a variety of real life adventures, including family celebrations, holidays, traveling, parenting, funny kid experiences, life as a dual citizen, marriage and romance, faith issues, and so much more! There is also a sprinkling of family-friendly product reviews and giveaways to highlight products and services that I can confidently and honestly recommend to my readers.

I have guest posted on My Wee View, and Canada Travels, and my reviews have been featured by DoTell The Game, Bibagogo, and quoted on the ART CLASS DVD packaging (from Shine the Light). It’s OK to be WEIRD! has been the Featured Blog at both Canadian Moms Online Community (as voted by fellow bloggers) and KLs Cupboard.
