About Me – SweetMummy

Raylene and hubby at RenFest in Carlsbad NM 2022Sweet Mummy – that’s me!

For years I’ve gone by this username online.

In real life, I’m called Mom, Mum, Madre, Mumsie, Sweetie, and sometimes even by my real name, Raylene.

I’m a Champion of weirdos (or WEIRDIES, as I prefer to call us), lover of hedgehogs and chocolate and sunshine ☀️, and a Wonder of a Woman. I am a (land)pirate, a hobbit, and a bard (at least I feel like these in my heart).

I’m currently transitioning between 2 very different worlds, after having lived in Canada for 23 years and moving back to the USA to family land in 2021.

Woman, wife, mom, business owner, quilter, musician, resident weirdie – that’s all ME!

I have been married 26+ years to a great guy who drug me off to another country and then back again 23 years later. 🤣

I am MOM to 3 fantastic now-adult kiddos – 21-yr-old son, 23-yr-old son, 24 yr-old daughter.

proudly Can-American! Canadian American flag

I’m happily Can-American (a citizen of both Canada and The United States).

I am proud to be a highly educated Stay-at-Home Mom / Wife / Home Manager, having a Bachelor of Science Degree in Water Resources-Civil Engineering, graduating with honors. I’m glad to have worked in the “professional’ world just long enough to appreciate how important a Profession is. I’m also glad to have left the corporate world to fully enjoy motherhood as my chosen profession.

I LOVE music and drama (theatre) and creating beautiful things. I love long walks on late summer evenings. I live for mountain vistas. It’s my favorite when my kiddos make me laugh.

I’m on a quest to discover a place that I cannot find ANY beauty in. (Wyoming would qualify for that if it weren’t for Yellowstone in western Wyoming…) I love to travel and see new things, and find every place, so far, very beautiful in its own way.
