Today, Sweetie and I celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!!

No unlucky number 13 here, though.  We don’t believe in that kind of stuff, anyway.  HA!  But, regardless of the inevitable ups and downs, each year our relationship gets better, really and truly!

I’m sure many would say this – in lots of ways it feels like it’s been longer than 13 years, but mostly it’s hard to believe that it’s been that long.  We dated for almost 3 years before we got married, so we’ve known each other for almost 16 years, and even that is hard to believe….

I love my Sweetie so much.  He’s the most patient, loving, solid and stable man I’ve ever met.  He’s my very best friend (I’m not just saying that!), and we have so much fun together.  I’d rather spend my time with him than with anyone else in the world.  I think he helps me to be a better version of myself – he brings out the best in me.

I wanted to mark the occasion today by posting our original wedding vows.  But I only have them on the video & cassette tape recording of our ceremony and not currently in print form at the moment.  Watching the video or listening to the tape would require some cooperation by the kiddos today, and I’ve not gotten much of that so far.  My printer/scanner is also dead, so I can’t scan in a copy of one of our wedding photos…. I guess this quick post will suffice for marking the day, eh?  I do have 1 photo – just of me, not us – on my Mac I can share though (I had it up for my Wedding Dress Blog Tour post):

We don’t have any big plans this year.  We’ve got ourselves on a tighter budget for the summer, to save for a big family trip to South Dakota.  But, we are pretty good at being romantic, when we put our minds to it, so I think we’ll still have a nice celebration of our own.
