December 1st already! WOW! That means Christmas-time is here for sure!
I wanted to remind my new readers about a series I wrote a few years ago about how we celebrate the Christmas season, including Advent. The basics are still the same, even though the posts were written when we lived in BC. We do things quite differently at our house during Christmas-time and it’s SO much fun.
Yes, we’re weird! And that’s OK! 🙂
Titles in the Christmas-time at Our House (a.k.a. Weird Christmas) series:
part 1 – A Different Kind of Christmas
part 2 – A Christmas Tree with Purpose
part 3 – What Does Santa Say about Jesus?
part 4 – What Do You Do with Santa?
part 5 – Santa Lucia Day
part 6 – First, there was a Cow – A Progressive Nativity
part 7 – Who’s Birthday Is It, Anyway?
part 8 – Fun Advent Family Devotions
part 9 – Reason for the Season Devotions
part 10 – Wise Men Still Seek Him – Epiphany Celebration
I do hope to do a bit of updating on my Christmas series, especially to explain a bit about how things have evolved as the kiddos have gotten older.
I hope you enjoy reading about our traditions (and maybe trying a few yourself) as much as I love sharing about them!
Merry Christmas, blog friends!
Love reading about how others celebrate the holidays. Our own family has added to and changed our traditions over the years. When I was very young, we only celebrated The Epiphany, but now we celebrate Christmas as well and just have an extended holiday season while everyone else is packing up their ornaments.
Sophie, thanks for stopping by! Celebrations do sort of evolve over time, and those family traditions that we set are fun to build around. We LOVE starting the gift giving early with St. Nicholas’ Day, and ending LATE with Epiphany, too! (Not to mention, picking up a few items at the after-Christmas sales!!)
