I never attended camp growing up, but my best friend always did, and so did my husband. They LOVED going to summer camp every year. Based on their experiences, I wanted to be sure to give my kiddos as many chances to attend camp as possible.

All 3 of my kiddos have gone to camp the last 3 years, with the older 2 both having gone 1 year before that as well. We as a family love to camp, and we enjoy camping together. But there really is something different about going off to camp without mom and dad, doing something ‘on your own’, and experiencing the outdoors from a different perspective.
The changes I see in my gorgeous children, just over the week or so that they are at camp, are amazing! They seem more grown-up, more free, more in-tune with themselves and with nature.
And OH the stories! For weeks and weeks, we get to hear about the games they played, the activities they participated in, the other kids and counselors they hung around with, and the adventures of their whole camp experience. Whether it’s midnight Mission Impossible games with flashlights in the forest, stuffing marshmallows into their cheeks to see you can fit the most, or the latest installment of ‘who got thrown off the dock’, the stories are never dull! In fact, we keep hearing stories even from their first year at camp. These experiences are indelibly imprinted on the minds and hearts of our kiddos.
I’m really glad I have the opportunity to share with you about kids summer camps, because I believe so strongly in them.
