I can’t find it inside me today to write a Weird Wednesday post. Everything is a bit weird right now, but not in a way that I can describe yet.

We’re saying goodbye to the best Great-Great-Grandma in the world.  My GG (Great-Grandma) passed away yesterday.  We are very fortunate to have had 96 beautiful years with her, and even more than that, to have had the blessing of 5 generations of a family alive at once.  My children make up part of that 5th generation, making GG their Great-Great-Grandma. Being 11, 9, and 8 years old, they all have good memories of GG, and she just loved them – what an amazing thing in this day and age: 1st and 5th generations really knowing one another!

She taught me how to quilt, how to make bread dough ‘squeak’ just right, how to use bottle caps in a trivet, how cold Montana winters are, how fun it is to still have adventures when you’re considered by others a ‘senior’, and countless other things I know I’ll be remembering over the next few days and weeks and months.  I know there would be no way to number the lives that she has touched.  She was an amazing lady!

GG, may you rest in sweet peace now.  We love you and we miss you!

Psalm 126:5 – “Those who sow in tears will reap in songs of joy.”

Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2Co 1:3, 4 –  “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
