There is a new Cooper and Me book out! My kiddos enjoyed the first one so much, and were really excited to see Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure.

Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure

About Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure

The Cooper and Me series is illustrated by 11-year-old Alexa Peters and co-written with her mother, Monique Peters. The idea was inspired by Alexa’s own experiences on her first day of school. A talented young artist and writer, Alexa wanted to give back to others in a meaningful way through her art. Starting at a very young age, Alexa created illustrated stories about her daily experiences, and from the pages of her sketchbooks came the idea for her first book, Cooper and Me.

In Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure, Cooper and Bella can’t wait to go sledding, but what happens when they wander a little too far from home and a snowstorm makes it difficult to find their way back? Cooper & Me Winter Adventure provides a wonderful opportunity to teach children the importance of making good decisions and the gentle lesson of how to be prepared in case they get lost.

Our Review

Once again, my 3 kiddos and I all read Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure, and we really like the story.

BudBud, who is also 11 (the same age as the author of the book), just went through a section in English Language Arts at school about poetry, and he picked up a few things from this new Cooper and Me book right away.  BudBud’s thoughts:

MOM, MOM! I think this is written in COUPLETS! (a kind of poetry rhythm) This is a sweet story and a good reminder about what to do if we do get lost. We should be careful, but it’s important to know what to do when we aren’t.

MrCutie is in grade 4, and he’s really advancing quickly in his English reading. Having another fun book, one that’s related to our current season, seemed like a really good connection for him. Here’s what he had to say about Cooper and Me:

Hmm… Mom, I think this story was written to remind me to be careful, especially in the winter. But even though it’s a teaching story, it’s a good story. Cooper and Bella are so cute!

We have some good family friends who have seen this book in our home, and they’ve also fallen in love with the sweet story of Cooper and Bella. The simple writing, the well-drawn and yet still child-like drawings just pull the children into the story. The beautiful bright colors and large print are perfect for an audience of elementary school students, for sure! We highly recommend the Cooper and Me series for young readers and families. Check it out!

We have special friends who have just found out that they will soon have another little sibling, so we’re giving a copy of this book to them as a “YAY! You’re Going to be a Big Brother and a Big Sister!” gift. I can’t wait to read it with them.
