On Saturday, my daughter and I went with another Mother/Daughter pair up to Spruce Meadows in Calgary for the Nations Cup horse jumping competition. It was amazing! I’m going to blog about that awesome experience as a whole post. For now, here’s just a few pics from the day. (and my first attempt at a Picnik collage! Thanks for the tip, Tammi!)

happened to you this week!
Wow – I’ve never been to one of those, can’t wait to hear all about it!
It was my first time, as well, and it was awesome. Well, I thought so anyway. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!
I’ve never had the pleasure of attending a horse race, but it looks like lout, colorful fun!
There is time involved, so I guess it’s kind of a race, but it’s more a skill-testing event – jumping without knocking down rails on the jumps or stepping in the water hazards, etc., and doing it under a certain amount of time. PHENOMENAL horsemanship, amazing athletes (both human and horses), just WOW! It was actually quieter than you’d think too – everyone holds their breath when the horse is making the hardest jumps. LOL!

oh I’ve been to horse shows before- cool pictures! 🙂
Wow! What a fun day. Love the collection of photos. Happy WW!
Looks like tons of fun!
Great collage! I’ve only been to one horse jumping competition. But I used to watch them on t.v. a lot as a kid. Horses are such beautiful animals.
I’ve watched Spruce Meadows on TV almost all my life with great dreams of getting there one day! I used to ride. 🙂 My horse was 5th in BC in dressage in our hay-day.
Looks like a great weekend! We did the musical ride earlier this summer, it was a great show 🙂
Too cool! Looks like a fun event!
I liked up for Wordful Wednesday. Thanks!
That sounds like so much fun!
Great pics, Raylene. The Dutch shoe one is WEIRD! I bet you and your daughter had a blast together!!
BTW, I love the quote you left on my blog, from your father-in-law…awesome!

I have never been to see that live. I think it’s an amazing event thought. Need to add it to my bucket list.
Wow, that’s exciting and look like fun! I found you through Amberr’s linky.
