One of my favorite people in the world is working on something really big right now, and I’d love to help her achieve one of her goals.

When I first met Jen, I never expected that we’d be good friends. Boy, was I WRONG! Jen is an awesome friend, and we’ve been through some stuff together – enough stuff to know she’s a real true friend, and an amazing woman.

Jen at Race End

Jen finishing a recent race!

Jen has been my hero and my inspiration for a while now. With three small kiddos at home, she’s still making (and REACHING) some incredible goals for herself. I first knew Jen as a volleyball player, and now she is a long distance runner. She carves out time for herself to train and run, being VERY careful to maintain important family time, too.

Jen lives in BC, and she runs in the rain, and in the rain, and in the rain, and sometimes she’s lucky to run on a sunny day, but she STILL runs!  I personally hate running – I hear you either love it or you hate it, and apparently Jen has come to love it. She’s won a 10k race, completed half marathons improving her time with each race, and now she’s got her eyes set on a new HUGE goal. Jen’s words:

“My goal is to bring clean water to 100 people in Ethiopia by May 26, when I will run 55km to raise awareness [in the Run for Water Abbotsford 2012 event]. Every $35 means one more person drinks clean water. Donate to help reach me reach this goal.”

Watch Jen in action and listen as she shares her heart in this great TV interview she did about the Run for Water Abbotsford 2012.

This is only a glimpse of the fantastic woman that Jen is! I love her so much (and I miss her so much, too)!

I can’t help her to train from here, but I am asking you to join me in celebrating Jen’s progress, and help support her goals today. Visit Jen’s Run for Water Pledge Page and help Jen provide clean water for Ethiopia! Jen is almost half way to her fundraising goal, right now. You know she’ll run with her head held high, pressing on to reach her running goal, and she’ll run better knowing that she’s met her fundraising goal, too.

I really and truly love Jen. I wish I could be there to cheer her on in the crowd on May 26th. But I’ll definitely be cheering for her from here! I’m amazed when I hear about her races, and I love seeing her succeed. I know she’s going to run fantastically. Now let’s help her with the water goal!
