May 31 is always a special day for me now. It marks a huge milestone in our lives. We call May 31st our “Canadaversary” (the anniversary of our coming to Canada).
On May 31, 1998, we crossed the Canadian border into BC to live and study in Canada. At the time we thought we would be in Canada for, at most, 4 years.
9 years later, we’re still here!
And we LOVE it!!
Canada is our home, and most of our married life we have been here. Our children were all born here, so our family was “Made in Canada”. And in a lot of ways we’re more Canadian than American (though if you’re American it’s in your blood and I’m still proud to be an American). We officially immigrated in April 2005 and will apply for dual citizenship in the fall.
