We had an amazing opportunity as a family to visit Circle Square Ranch in Halkirk, Alberta last weekend. Kevin Perry (Executive Director of CSRanch Halkirk), his wife Cynthia, and their whole staff and crew were awesome. The Ranch is a GREAT place in SO many ways, and their programs are fantastic!
We have LOTS to tell you about the camp, the activities, and our family time there. But for now, I’m going to share a little teaser video!
We really did have a GREAT time in Halkirk, and I can’t wait to share more about our adventures at Circle Square Ranch! Stay Tuned!
Hey, I’m in Alberta! I’ll need a camp for the girls in the next couple of years, thanks for the recommendation {love the photos!}. Can’t wait to read more about the ranch!!

🙂 you’re good at videos Raylene! nice pics and I really love the song! I’d love to go on that lake with a canoe!!!
The lake was PERFECT for paddling around in, but not feeling like you were going to get lost. The kiddos each had their own Kayak, so Sweetie and I got to hang out in a canoe by ourselves for the first time in ages. We liked to paddle over to the shade at the edge of the pond and watch a young duck in the reeds! 🙂
that reminds me of my summers spent at camp! Good times 🙂
Hello Raylene,
Thanks so much for the great stuff that you are writing about Circle Square Ranch!! What week were you at the Halkirk ranch? I’m wondering if we were there at the same time.
Hi Wanda – we were up there August 16-19, so not a full week, but over the weekend just before Teen Camp. We had so much fun! I have another post going up today, with several more still to come!
What’s your favorite part of Circle Square Ranch Halkirk, Wanda?
Ah, we missed you then! My husband, Bruce, oversees all of the western IVCF (ourcamps.ca) camps. We actually home-based it in Halkirk for the summer and drove back & forth (18,000 km total) to the 6 camps from Manitoba – BC. Fun!!!
What is my favourite part??? hmmm. That’s a tough one. Here are a couple:
– I love seeing kids just having fun … in essence, just being kids.
– I love seeing kids & staff responding to Jesus … and to truth.
Camp is an amazing place. The superficial gets stripped away in the outdoorsy-rawness of the environment and the opportunity to share Jesus is so great through the relational community that develops. There is time to talk, to dialogue and observe. Staff have to be authentic. There is no hiding at camp. The bonus for the staff is that they are given moments that most pastors dream about — praying with and leading many campers to Christ. I could go on, but I’ll stop… I guess you can tell that I’m sold on the effectiveness of camp 🙂
