I have theme nights for my dinner time meals at our house. It makes it easier for me to pick from a handful of things rather than a whole raft of things when it comes time to choose what’s for dinner. Wednesday nights is “Weird Wednesday” or sometimes the kiddos call it “Wildcard/Whatever Wednesday”. I usually put up a menu on the fridge for the whole week, but Wednesday is always blank, or just says “Weird Wednesday” so they never know what to expect on those nights.

In the past we’ve done Breakfast for Dinner, or a surprise dinner out, or maybe a Pirate night, or a eat dessert first night.

TONIGHT, it’s DESSERT for Dinner!

Start to finish, dinner is all dessert things. I hunted down some recipes that were high in protein and lower in sugar so that we could still be ‘sorta’ healthy. 🙂

Dessert for DinnerMenu:

  • High protein chocolate cake
    • includes cottage cheese in the recipe
  • Extra protein cheesecake
    • a no-bake pack I got at the store, but added a bit extra cream cheese and some cottage cheese
  • Baked Custard
    • eggs, eggs, eggs!
  • Lemon Squares
    • this one is like a lemon custard on a shortbread base – so, yah, more eggs!

(all HIGH protein, and LOW sugar, mostly made with Erythritol instead of real sugar)!

I used like a whole dozen eggs for dinner I think! (Thankfully, we use Omega3 eggs!)

My kiddos LOVE Weird Wednesdays, especially when Dessert is for Dinner! 🙂
