I would like to invite you (well, some of you) to join my Triberr tribe.  I have sent you (well, some of you) a DM on Twitter asking you to join my Tribe.  But I also copied some of this information from the great tweep who invited me to Triberr – MapleLeafMommy – so I could explain what Triberr is and why you would want to join.

Triberr is a new cool tool for Twitter.  It’s still in beta, and it’s only been around since March.   It’s free to join, but it’s also strictly invite only.

So what does Triberr do?
In short –  It takes the headlines from your blog posts and auto-retweets them.

When you join you become a member of a Tribe. Triberr reads your RSS feed and grabs the headlines from your blog posts.  Then every member of your Tribe tweets out your blog headline.  You in turn, are tweeting out the blog headlines of the other members of the Tribe. Each Tribe can hold a maximum of seven people and invitations can only be given out by the chief of the Tribe.

Triberr’s tagline is “the reach multiplier”, because for every fellow Tribesman tweeting out your headlines your Twitter reach is extended.  For example, according to my Triberr dashboard I currently have 9 others sharing my stuff, for a Twitter reach of 20.219.

How to join?
Look at that DM I sent you, it has a special invite code in it.  Head over to triberr.com and along the right hand side click on “I have an invite code.” Enter the invite code in the space that shows up and click on “Go”. You will then be asked to provide some basic info, access to your Twitter account and a link to your RSS feed.

Once you join you are now a “Tribal Elder” within the Tribe you just joined under (hopefully mine).  You are now also the Chief of three tribes of your own. Each tribe can hold seven people, which means you now have 18 invites of your own to hand out if you’d like.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Triberr is quite new and still in Beta.  I’ve experienced a few glitches with it not reading my RSS feed.  If after a 24 hour period it appears that your blog posts aren’t being tweeted out by the Tribe, log in and click on “Account”.  Then on the left hand side under settings choose RSS feeds. Click on “update” to manually update your feed.

Not every post you publish will be tweeted.
Triberr checks tribal RSS once a day and pulls the latest post only. If someone has published 4 posts since the last time RSS-Sweeper checked, only the latest post is fed into the tribal drum circle.

To quote their FAQ: “We dont want you to spam your Tribesmen and they dont want to spam their followers. If you publish say 5 posts per day, only one will be tweeted. If you want to ensure your post gets tweeted, publish it very late at night or very early in the morning (before 6am EST)”

The tweets are spaced out over time.
Again to quote their FAQ:
“We think that close circle of quality bloggers within the same niche will likely have many of the same followers. It wouldn’t be good if a follower was to see the same tweet by 7 bloggers one after the other in his or her Twitter timeline. So, we stagger the tweets in approximately 40 minute intervals.”

What are bones?
You start with 100 bones in your account.  The idea is that there will be premium features that can be paid for by bones, and at some point in the future you will be able to purchase bones to pay for those premium features. Additional Tribe membership slots can be purchased for 30 bones a piece.  You can also pay bones to have a message which has already went out be tweeted once again (to a maximum of three times total).  Additionally, you get paid bones when others choose to resend their message  through you.

Info Specific to my Tribes:
I have three tribes that I am able to assemble:  One of them is Pastors’ Wives United – for pastors wives,(one is private), and I’m still figuring out the 3rd one.

I am only inviting those that I know produce quality posts.  I am actively keeping on eye on the Triberr stream to make sure things stay spam free. In short, you can sign up and know that the fellow Tribesman you end up with will share quality posts and have similar goals to your own.

Keep in mind, that if you are already part of a tribe, you can not be the member of another one, except as a chief of your own.  This is to avoid duplicate tweets. I hope you can join me in my tribe!  I’d love to have you, and to promote your content to my followers!

If you have any questions let me know.  I’m still learning myself, but we can learn together.  If you figure out any cool tricks or whatever that I’m missing, please let me know.
