Welcome to WEIRD and Wordless Wednesday!
Sure to be weird, and this week pretty wordless, too.
This is what the kitchen looks like when my daughter is finished making cookies. She can do it all on her own, start to finish – but it appears we need to work on the cleanup!
Please feel free to link your Weird and Wordless (or Word-full) posts below.

what weirdness you ran into this week, too!
I bet the cookies are tasty 🙂 Leave the mess for the Hubster!
YUP, pretty tasty! Especially since I didn’t have to make ’em! LOL
She came back later and cleaned up… once I got the oranges out of the drainer.
well I guess the sign of good cookie-making is a good mess! lol
She is a darned good cookie maker, and obviously a pretty good mess maker, too! hehehe She makes cookies all on her own now, so I guess I can’t complain too much right? 🙂
I bet it was worth it in the end.
They were yummy cookies for sure! It was worth it, it’s always worth it to watch the kiddos do things like this on their own. I know she won’t starve in University – she might have a few bouts of salmonella if she keeps eating 1/2 of the cookie dough though! haha
I hate the cleanup part!!

It’s absolutely my least favorite part too. Absolutely! But the cookies were awesome!
clean up is part of the cooking in our house,,in theory!!!!
in theory, it’s supposed to be at ours too! LOL! She did come back later and clean it up, saying she was just taking a break. hmm-hm, sure!
Mine usually looks like that too when I bake. Good to know I’m not the only one lol!
HAHA! You too!? I usually put stuff away as I go because I have so little counter space, and try to get things put into the dishwasher to get washed. I hate having to clean up others baking messes so I try not to leave them myself. This is a point we need to work on with this great little cookie maker! LOL!
Yowsers! But I bet they were good cookies!
Just about any cookies I don’t have to bake myself are good cookies! LOL! It’s great when the kiddos get old enough to make a batch of cookies (or other things) totally on their own.
Hey, my kitchen often looks like that, even when I’m not baking!

LOL! Well, we have days when it looks like this too! 🙂
I didn’t know I was your daughter! That’s how the kitchen looks after I make cookies too 😛
Heather – unless you are a super cute 12-yr-old girl with a snappy sense of humor and sparkling hazel eyes…. nope, you’re not my daughter! haha
I’m hearing from others here that this is apparently a common sight in MANY kitchens after cookie baking! lol
That looks about right. Cleanup after you enjoy the cookies!
Yup, that’s what we did. Cookies First, clean up later! 🙂
Ups! yeah, cleaning up after the baking or cooking is the less fun part! I can see you have just about as much counter space as I do – so we really don’t have a choice but to keep that little space clean … 😉
No fun at all, but MUST be done! haha
Yes, you’re exactly right, Eva – VERY little counter space means you just gotta keep it clean. I end up prepping stuff on the stovetop sometimes cuz there’s just no room! *sigh*
I see a Kitchenmaid mixer…Oh! Would I love to have one in our kitchen. It would have been very helpful today when I was making blueberry muffins.
Happy Hump Day!
We LUV our Kitchenaid. It’s 14 years old and still going strong. I wouldn’t be without it!! We use it for everything. It has attachments for all kinds of stuff.
Well I bet the cookies are tasty!! Cleanup after you enjoy the cookies!
The cookies were YUMMY!
