Welcome to WEIRD and Wordless Wednesday!
Almost always weird, and sometimes wordless, too.
This sign was set up here in Lethbridge in a construction zone. My daughter (13yrs) REALLY honestly and truly thought it looked like a clown on unicycle riding across a tightrope over water while juggling. But her question that tipped me of she didn’t really understand the sign was, “Mom, why would someone be juggling in a construction zone?” She has a very valid point, on all accounts, I’d say. I’m never surprised by the goofy-ness of construction signs in Alberta.
Wordless Wednesday is meant to be a simple post which features a photo to convey a message that speaks for itself without using words; well not a lot of words!

what weird or wonderful things you’ve seen this week!
well why WOULDN’T you juggle in a construction zone? *snicker*
haha! I’m going to need to show my kids this and see what they think! (if they fall for it!)
There is a lot of goofyness in Alberta for sure.
Thanks for linking up with The Bewitchin’ Kitchen!
Tee Hee! 🙂
Ha ha! Hilarious!!
I’ll give it a try. I believe it is a warning for motorcyclists about that dreaded road constuction hazard, “grooved pavement”. It is loud and causes you to swerve even if you are in a car”. I like your daughters suggestion though, it makes more sense
You’re exactly right Christopher. I knew what it meant, and so I’d never even looked at it very closely. It was only after she mentioned this that I looked again and thought – “Yah, that’s a pretty goofy sign. ” I’ve seen a different one with triangular bumps on the bottom, and a less geometric, more realistic looking motorcycler.
I love it when I get a good glimpse into how my kiddos are thinking, and seeing life through their eyes is always very interesting!
Haha, yes, why indeed 🙂
Love that one! I’m finding it so odd to see all of the new moose crossing signs in Saskatchewan! I also get pretty amused by the dear crossing ones because the angle of the deer jumping seems to vary quite a bit. Do deer in certain areas jump higher than others?
I knew it. i was trying to explain to my coworkers about a sign that always looked to me like a guy on a unicycle juggling. No matter what I searched I could not find the road sign. So I finally just googled “road sign guy on a unicycle juggling” and this popped up. I was so relieved to see that I am not the only one that sees it the same way!
Yup, Scott, that’s what it looks like to us! LOL! Glad we could help. 🙂
