All 3 of my kiddos are heading to camp tomorrow.  I’m not sure who’s more excited – them or us!

They have been packing, getting ready to go.  That has been an adventure all its own. Gathering and packing enough gear for all 3 kiddos to be away for 6 days, including one rugged out-trip as part of their camp experience, is a challenge.  Getting the kiddos to cooperate long enough to get everything packed is next-to-impossible!

Our philosophy is that if they want to participate in things like this, they have to be responsible for their stuff. So, there’s a lot of helping going on, but they are in charge of their own gear.

They have been doing laundry for 3 days, and still today they didn’t have enough socks or pants and couldn’t find their swimsuits. I have no idea how that happens.

We also had to run around a bit today and get some of the things they didn’t have – thank goodness for Catholic Charities 50% off Customer Appreciation Days!  3 pairs of shoes for $5!!

In the end, between the shopping and the laundry, they found enough clothes to fill out their bags and check off the ‘required for camp’ list.

We’ll take them out to camp tomorrow, drop them off, and then be KID FREE for 6 days!!!!!  WOOHOO! This is the first time they’ve all been at camp together. Sweetie and I were supposed to have a week together without the kiddos at Spring Break, but it ended up that we spent nearly all of our time road tripping (driving back and forth from New Mexico). This time we will still have work to do and things to be done, but we’ll also come up with a fun adventure for just the two of us to do to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary that just passed a few days ago.

Adventures all around, and thankfully we’re finally done packing…. I think… I guess we’ll know for sure when we load the van in the morning!
