I’ve been looking around the web a bit, wanting to make things at both of my blogs a little more standard and easier to use. My comments here don’t have the ability to subscribe, and things like trackbacks and SEO are kinda tricky here. That is probably going to mean going to a Blogger or WordPress blog.
The 2 biggest issues I have found, so far, are: 1) migrating my stuff to a new place (redirecting traffic and stuff) and 2) finding unique blog templates suitable to my themes.
I had considered having someone design my blog template for me – my preferred designer, Diana, is going on holiday until August with 3 jobs already in line for when she gets back. I’m not sure I want to wait that long.
I have also seriously considered trying to design my own template. I’m creative and at least a little computer saavy. I have fiddled with the CSS on my 2 blogs to make them what they are today, so I do know a tiny bit about that kind of stuff.
Any tips on that? Should I even try, or just leave it to the ‘professionals’?
It’s not an easy decision, and it’s kinda been bugging me the last few days. I’ve got to get some direction shortly so I can move on in one way or another.
I’ll keep you posted on what all that is going to look like.
