Because I am BOTH American and Canadian, I can kinda pick folks from both sides of the border.  But Canada is my chosen home, and I’ve been here my whole married life (minus a few months) so I’m kinda more Canadian than American in some ways.  And being an ‘outsider’ to the Canadian culture when we first arrived in Canada, we learned a LOT real fast!

So, how Canadian are you, eh?

(Yes, I do say eh, but not actually that much!)

Important things to know if you’re Canadian –

  • Basketball was invented in Canada!
  • You shouldn’t say ‘eh’ a lot around a Canadian if you aren’t Canadian yourself.  (Believe me, we can tell!)
  • We don’t have $1 bills – we have $1 coins, called Loonies – but DON’T call us loonies!
  • A toque (pronounced two-k) is a winter hat, and it’s absolutely acceptable to show up to work or any social engagement with toque hair.
  • Winter lasts for a minimum of 6 months, but Spring, Summer and Fall can all show up on the same day!
  • For all those winter months it’s helpful to know that Canada’s #1 Cold Product and Canada’s #1 Pharmacist recommended Natural Cold Remedy is Cold-FX – it’s GOOD stuff!

Do they have Cold-FX in the States?  I’ve only heard about it in Canada.  (That’s cuz we’ve got all the good stuff up here! hehehe)

Cold-FX wants to know how Canadian you are too!  They are having the “Proudly Canadian” Challenge on Facebook!  Let’s see how you do when your knowledge of Canadian inventions is put to the test.
