A funny thing happened at Montana’s the other day…

We went to Montana’s Steakhouse for my youngest son’s birthday dinner.  Right after we arrived at the restaurant, and started looking at the menus, I experienced a MAJOR wardrobe malfunction.  We’re talking SERIOUSLY dangerous!
I was nearly impaled, and almost killed, by my own underwire!
dangerous underwire

This escaped underwire was quite painful, seriously jabbing me. The end of the wire had no coating or padding on it, so once it popped out of the sleeve where it belongs it was just bare rough wire on bare skin in a relatively delicate area of my body, close to my heart.

Who knew that perusing the menu was a strenuous enough activity to cause the underwire of a bra to pop out like that?

I couldn’t help but say, “OUCH!” (MANY times) and attempt to adjust things to reposition the offending wire, while still sitting at the table. My son who was sitting next to me, and who’s birthday we were celebrating, had the perfect ‘fix’ for it though – he informed me that I should just go into the washroom and, “Take off your bras.”  (yes, he always pluralizes it… no idea why!) I told him I probably wouldn’t do that but I would go and see if I could put it back together or something.

It turns out that I did have to ‘take it all off’ (in the privacy of my own personal washroom stall) to try and fix things.  I remember thinking, “Shoot, this is one of my VERY favorite bras!”  I wondered if maybe the easiest thing to do would be to just take the wire out completely, thinking that I could replace it later.  I couldn’t get the wire out – it was stitched in to the opposite end and I couldn’t get it loose.  So, I was able to sorta get the wire back inside the sleeve, and I figured as long as I didn’t move too much that it would stay together long enough to get me home.

Anyway, it did make it home, and I think I can get it all stitched back into place.  Bras are rarely as comfortable once they are repaired, but I’ll give it a try, since it is one of my favorites.

My major wardrobe malfunction was painful for me, but MrCutie thought it was pretty funny in all (he just turned 9) as did his Dad!  Dad even wanted to help check it out, of course!  LOL!

This is only the 2nd time this has happened to me (before, the wire was coated with a little something and was quite as dangerous).  Hoping it doesn’t happen again soon.  Oh the things we do for ‘fashion’.

A funny thing happened….?  Yah, I can say it’s funny, now!  But major wardrobe malfunctions can be dangerous, and are no laughing matter.  HA!
