I have been very excited for a few weeks now about an opportunity that has come across my desk.  I’ve done my homework, investigated the options, and now it’s all a ‘go’!

Very soon, in partnership with the great folks at OpenSky, I will begin selling products that I love and believe in, with a shop that is connected directly to my blog.

There are many reasons why I chose to join the OpenSky community.  One reason is Community. That’s exactly what it is, a community of people working together.  I read from another member of the OpenSky team,  “We connect the people who make great products to the people who love to share great products.” And the people really are great, too!

One of the most awesome things about OpenSky is working with REAL people, people who I know and trust.  I personally think that’s the best way to shop, my preferred way to shop in fact.  That idea is the heart of OpenSky’s vision for transforming how we interact with retailers.  We’re working directly with small- to medium-sized manufacturers to get the word out about amazing specialized products that you won’t find just anywhere!

And that’s another fantastic thing – I will only be selling products that I love and can personally endorse.  I get to choose the products that I promote and the people I want to work with.  The mix of things I sell might be… well… weird, of course, since I’m a little weird and have weird tastes (maybe eclectic is a better word?).  Would you expect anything less?  LOL!  But the products will all be things I use and love!

Even though I’m just getting started with the OpenSky network, they were founded in May 2009, and they work with over 1000 suppliers and many shop owners like myself.  Another great feature is that the network is growing by leaps and bounds now, and new sellers and suppliers alike are welcome to join the OpenSky community.

That may be the biggest reason I joined OpenSky – I believe that the little people (like me!) can make a big difference in the world if we work together.  I love seeing entrepreneurs and mom-preneurs with great products succeed, and not getting lost in the big time world of box stores.  I would love to be part of that success, using my voice and my passions to spread the word about some great things you might love to use and never even knew about!

My shop will launch on August 10th, as part of the official relaunch of the OpenSky platform.  When it does, I’ll be sharing some great products from some awesome folks.  My list of products will grow as I become more familiar with the suppliers in the community, as well.

That’s awesome!  It’s big news if it makes it on Good Morning America, right?!  I love it!

So, can you tell I am SUPER excited to get started!?!?  WooHoo!  It’s an exciting time to be a part of something fantastic like this!

I love so many things about this opportunity, not the least of which is that I get to just keep being ME and keep blogging the way I do. You will notice a bit of a change when my shop is launched, but it’ll definitely be the same weirdie me and the same kind of weird stuff going on around here!  It will still, and always, be, first and foremost, a blog – but with a shop attached! 🙂
