My kiddos and I have always enjoyed reading Winnie the Pooh stories together.  Then we had several Disney videos that the kiddos just about wore out when they were preschoolers.  Recently we found all of the stories on audiobook, and that was LOTS of fun!

But Winnie the Pooh is coming back to the big screen this summer!

ABOUT THE MOVIE

Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with “Winnie the Pooh.” Featuring the timeless charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.  “Ever have one of those days where you just can’t win, Eeyore?” asks Pooh.  Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey. Inspired by three stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theatres on July 15th!

I LOVE the original featurettes – they are the best of all the stories I’ve read about Winnie the Pooh.  They are indeed timeless and children from all cultures and generations (since their original publication) have continued to enjoy them immensely. I’m not sure who is my favorite character – it’s either Winnie the Pooh or Tiggr (I’m more like Tiggr than Pooh Bear, but Pooh Bear is just so cute), but I love the whole crew!

Many children will be seeing Winnie the Pooh for the first time on the big screen this summer.  I’m excited about that!  This is classic literature turned into film, and they are just plain FUN! Are you taking your children?

By the way, who is your favorite Winnie the Pooh character?
